How to Change Old Post URL On WordPress – Without Losing Index

N.B. – Always remember about choosing any plugin, go for that one which has the most active installs. Higher the active install is the better quality it has. So always go for the most used plugins.
Now find out the Old Post URL which you want to change. Then go to your WordPress Dashboard > Tools > Redirection.
At first, Copy your old post URL and paste it into the Source URL option. Then copy your new URL and paste it to the Target URL option. Click on the “Add Redirection” button.
This is the final and the important step to change old post URL on WordPress Blog Post. So don’t do any kind of mistake in this step.
At first, go to your Google Search Console account > Crawl > Fetch as Google. And please only copy your posts new slug don’t copy the full URL. For example, you’re changing this posts URL which is – https://www.bloggertracks.com/change-old-post-url-on-wordpress/ and you will have to copy only the post slug – (change-old-post-url-on-wordpress/)
After that click on the “Request Indexing” button for submit your new URL to Google Search Engine.
After completing all those procedures above, now all you need to do is to “Crawl Your New URL and Direct Links”. Remember that if you do it with the “Crawl Only This URL” option then it will take more than 15 days to index your New URL. So if choose the way I told you to do then it will not take more than 3/4 days to index your New URL to Google Search Engine.
