Before submitting a sitemap, one must know what a sitemap is. A sitemap is a file where you can list the web pages of your site to tell Google and other search engines about the organization of your site content. Search engine web crawlers like Googlebot read this file to more intelligently crawl your site. So adding sitemaps to google search console is important so that google bot can crawl to your website.
How to Submit Sitemaps

First, you have to find the sitemaps of your blog, for that simply click on XML SITEMAPS from Yoast Seo dashboard.
After this, a menu will appear, click on XML Sitemaps.
Another window will open in your browser and you will see your sitemaps there.
Now copy the text post-sitemap.com and go to your google search console account.
Click on sitemaps and you will find a menu where there will be an option of adding a sitemap.
Click on ADD/TEST sitemap and first write post-sitemap.xml and submit it
Again click on ADD/TEST sitemap and write page-sitemap.xml and submit it
And you’re done. Make sure your robots.txt is correct so that the Googlebot can crawl to your website.
