After your website adding is complete you must expect to see crawling reports of your website as search console does that for you. But still you can’t see the crawl reports, nor the impressions, clicks and other things. Why so?
Because to get everything done you must add sitemaps of your website to search console.Today I’ll show you the easy steps of how to add sitemaps to google search console.
Before submitting a sitemap, one must know what a sitemap is. A sitemap is a file where you can list the web pages of your site to tell Google and other search engines about the organization of your site content. Search engine web crawlers like Googlebot read this file to more intelligently crawl your site. So adding sitemaps to google search console is important so that google bot can crawl to your website.
If you’re a WordPress user, then this is the actual direction for you to add sitemaps. At First you have to install YOAST SEO plugin. If you don’t know how to add a WordPress plugin check this post How to Install WordPress Plugins. Once you’re done with installing this, we can proceed.
First, you have to find the sitemaps of your blog, for that simply click on XML SITEMAPS from Yoast Seo dashboard.
After this a menu will appear , click on XML Sitemaps.
Another window will open in your browser and you will see your sitemaps there.
Now copy the text post-sitemap.com and go to your google search console account.
Click on sitemaps and you will find a menu where there will be an option of adding a sitemap.
Click on ADD/TEST sitemap and first write post-sitemap.xml and submit it
Again click on ADD/TEST sitemap and write page-sitemap.xml and submit it
And you’re done. Make sure your robots.txt is correct so that the Googlebot can crawl to your website.
